Coed Varsity/JV Track · Track & Field: Last Week of April, First Week of Outdoors

It has been a long Spring of indoor track, getting out now and then.  I now realize we have been spoiled being able to be out on Day 1 the last few seasons.

This week we had three meets and did the athletes ever perform!  Results this week are a testament to the dedication to the program both indoors and over the offseason.  STMA’s Ed Bourelle Invite and our 10 Team Invite at Cambridge-Isanti gave our Varsity Athletes a lot of competition this week to further drive their motivation.  JV also saw strong competition against a lot of Varsity athletes at Big Lake’s Invitational yesterday.

If you have been following our Twitter/Facebook you have seen the great number of athletes achieving their Personal Best marks in their career.  Here are a few of the most notable:

Two New School Records– David Shaptala on Tuesday in the 200m and Grace Maurer Thursday in the Triple Jump (who also was runner up for Athlete of the Meet at STMA).

Making the list of MN State Elite on the MSHSL Class AA Honor Roll were:

Samantha Orth (High Jump), Grace Maurer (Triple Jump), Alana Walters (Long Jump), Girls 4×100 and Girls 4×200 team of Grace Maurer, Carlie Heinecke, Alana Walters and Kyra Dalluge.
Tuesday, May 1st we will host Elk River and Zimmerman in our ISD 728 Track Meet.  Hope to see you there.
