Student-Athlete Leaders from Rogers High School attended the Mississippi 8 Leadership Retreat on August 13th at St. Francis High School to discuss the Why We Play (WWP) program through the Minnesota State High School League.

The WWP initiative is in place to help provide coaches/students with the idea that Activities is more than just winning and losing. We are here to help them with the development of important life skills like:

-being responsible
-striving for excellence
-learning from mistakes and failure
-helping others succeed
-overcoming adversity; and
-being a contributing member of a team.

RHS Students came up with the following definitions of success and an initiative for RHS:

Success is learning lifelong skills and abilities even when enduring obstacles.

At RHS we believe that through positive actions we can foster a fun and passionate environment within our community.
